Gustaf Sjövall is Årets unga branschstjärna 2016

Gustaf Sjövall Super Trainer at Vapiano, was named young hospitality star of the year in connection with Visita Stockholm's industry party on Tuesday February 16.

The jury's statement: Here's Vapiano's trainer who at age 22 already has made a super career. Gustaf already travels the world teaching his skills to all Vapiano restaurants. In December he spread his knowledge in Shanghai. This jury is sure that this guy has not reached the peak of his career yet.

- I hope that this award will inspire other young people to make the same journey I made in the restaurant industry, says Gustaf Sjövall.

Despite his young age Gustaf works with a central part of Vapiano's business where he is responsible for training, quality assurance and operational procedures throughout Sweden. In his role as the Super Trainer he is leading the development of Vapiano’s service and runs several key development projects.

- I am extremely happy and proud. Vapiano is a company which wholeheartedly invests in young people and Gustaf is in many ways an excellent example of how young people with their own motivation can build a career, says Hanna Mannberg, CEO of Vapiano.

The prize given out annually by Visita Stockholm is aimed to raise the status of jobs in the hospitality industry, show career opportunities and motivate more people to stay in the industry. The jury consists of Lena Snygg, CEO of Stureplansgruppen Arena Catering AB, Pontus Frithiof, CEO Pontus Group, Mats Bengtsson, owner and hotel manager at The Collector's Victory Hotel, and Andreas Häggqvist, CEO of Flottsbro Friluftsområde.

The prize comes with a scholarship of SEK 40 000 to be used for development within the hospitality industry, either in Sweden or abroad. Tess Humble Dillner, Nordic Sea and Nordic Light, was also awarded by Visita.
