Vapiano wins Mapic Award
Vapiano is the winner in the category “Best Food & Beverage Retail Concept” at the 19th MAPIC Awards in Cannes. The lifestyle brand won over the jury with Italian zest and a cosmopolitan ambience.
“Chi va piano, va sano e va lontano” - Take things easy, and you’ll live healthier and longer, so goes an Italian saying. This attitude to life is reflected in all facets of the Vapiano concept: in the fresh pasta and pizza, in the Vapiansti, in the locations and in the design. In November the international MAPIC jury singled out the German company for the best Food & Beverage retail concept.
“This Mapic Award 2014 is a particular honour for us. We are delighted that the top-ranking jury selected Vapiano from among the European entrants who included landlords, property developers, real estate agents and other market participants. We are sure that this recognition is due to the new design t3hat we have recently implemented as well as our strong growth in recent years, especially in the major European core markets,” says Mario C. Bauer, CEO of Vapiano Franchising International GmbH, who accepted the award.
The secret of Vapiano’s success is freshness – of its ingredients, of its preparation methods and of its thinking. In the more than 150 Vapiano locations all over the world, guests enjoy a Mediterranean-style break in a cosmopolitan and communicative atmosphere. In the show kitchen the Vapianisti prepare all the dishes before the eyes of the guests – fresh and according to individual wishes. This lifestyle brand harmonizes with the flexible and urban lifestyle of its guests, who extend across all age groups. There is no dress code and no need to make a reservation – so it’s just like eating a meal with good friends. Large oak tables that encourage communication, an olive tree, fresh herbs and a light colour scheme are the key elements of Vapiano’s urban feel-good ambience. The design and the colour concept have been created by the Milan-based designer and architect Matteo Thun.
The MAPIC Awards 2014 were presented in eight categories for the best concepts and projects in the retail property sector. The awards ceremony took place on 20 November as part of MAPIC, the international retail property fair in Cannes.
MAPIC is a major meeting point for international retailers and property developers. The trade fair features exhibitions, conferences and networking events targeting all types of retail property, such as city and shopping centres, factory outlets, leisure areas and transit zones. It attracts over 8,000 visitors and is now celebrating its 20th jubilee this year.
